What is RNO treatment?
RNO (Neuro-Occlusal Rehabilitation) using bonded resin-composite slopes or composite inclined planes is an orthodontic treatment approach that seeks to guide the growth and functional development of the occlusion (bite). It aims to restore masticatory balance by correcting how the teeth fit together and how the muscles function during chewing, all without exerting direct pressure on the teeth. These techniques redefine the traditional understanding of orthodontics.
What is the inclined bite plane?
Inclined bite planes are small resin surfaces placed on the teeth to guide the bite of a child, adolescent, or young adult when closing their mouth. This enables better chewing and promotes more balanced jaw growth. We do not simply move teeth; instead, we help correct the bite through the act of chewing itself, allowing the occlusion to improve harmoniously during growth.
